Ryzen 8000g APUs released by AMD

Advanced Micro Devices, or as we all know AMD, will release their latest APU series, the Ryzen 8000g Series, on January 31st with the beginning of 2024.

For many people, this APU may be a strange thing. This is not really strange. An APU (Accelerated Processing Unit) is a single unit made by combining both CPU and GPU units. Most of the Intel processors (with integrated graphics) that we use, and the processors of portable game consoles fall into this APU category. But for so long, this APU was not very successful. No matter how much we used an APU, we needed a GPU. Regardless, AMD tried as much as possible and released the 8000g Series as a successful APU Series.

This APU series has four processors just like the old series.

Almost all of these processors are compatible with the AM5 socket. Therefore, motherboards like A620, B650, X670 can be used for a long time. The technology of the Ryzen 7000 Series, Zen4 Technology, which is an updated version of the 7000 Series, and the Zen4c Technology, which is an updated version of the 7000 Series, have been used in this 8000g Series.

But APUs cannot provide as much performance as a CPU and GPU. Similarly, these APUs cost around $229 – $329. If these APUs come to Sri Lanka, it will cost Rs.80,000 – Rs.140,000. The good side of these APUs is that the TDP can be reduced to 65w (may vary).
